No more crib for Baby

 So yesterday I woke up to Max screaming because he fell out of his crib. He learned to climb into it on his own, which I was already worried about, and falling out of the bed was the last straw. So yesterday Steve took down the crib (THANKS JUSTIN AND KRISTA!!! We've been borrowing it for two years.) and we put Max's mattress on the floor. (We weren't exactly expecting to need a big boy bed just yet, so we don't have one.)

At first Max thought it was a wonderful idea! Oh, how fun! A bed on the floor!

Wait a minute... my crib is GONE?!

Surely you're just joking. Haha, it's funny! Very funny Mom.

Forced into the bed a few (hundred) times... Extremely unhappy with it.

No bed! Sit couch!

Naughty baby was awake 'till Midnight, when we finally convinced him to fall asleep in our bed.

Update: Naughty took a nap in the new "bed" today while I was at work, so, yay!

My gorgeous baby took his first steps today. I didn't get any pictures or video because he took me completely by surprise... hopefully the next time he gets brave we'll be ready for it. I can't believe my little one is so big! He's always going, non-stop curiosity... crawling, climbing, playing, and now... walking.

In one month my baby will have his first birthday. How do the baby years go so fast?

Rolling Over Baby & Reading Asher!

Yesterday, April 20, 2010, Max Emery Ortega learned to roll over all by himself! :) (back to front) It's funny how proud of the little stuff us moms get!


Last week Asher was making what he calls a "Word Field". He spreads his flash cards out all over the floor and walks through them. Steve was here and started asking Asher to read the words on the cards. He read almost every one of them perfectly! In all our efforts to teach Josh to read, we haven't even noticed that Asher was learning too!
