The Husband

My husband Steve and I have been together for 7 1/2 years now, a completely mis-matched couple who fight every day to stay together. We are on all levels conceivable "wrong for each other", but we love like no one ever has, and we are determined to make it through this life together.

We met on the school bus December 2002, my senior year in high school, and have had a rocky relationship ever since. Somehow, though, we are pulled together like magnets, unable to live without each other. We were married April 9, 2005 in my parents' living room, without a dollar to our name.

Steve took my son Joshua in as his own when he was only eighteen years old, and has been known as Joshua's dad ever since. Despite their differences, Steve continues every day to learn how to relate to Josh and teach him to be a strong person. He is a fantastic father, who loves his children intensely.

When we got married, Steve joined the US Army and, after spending 11 months in training and missing the birth of his son, we moved together to Fort Riley, Kansas, where we spent the next 3 years.

Now, Steve is 24 years old, attending his first year of college, with a long-term plan of Chemical Engineering. He is extremely driven and passionate, charming and popular. (See what I mean about mis-matched? We couldn't be more different.) He is very intelligent, with a flare for speech, music, and a sense of humor.

I am madly in love with him, despite his lack of understanding that I should be the Princess and he should wait on me night and day. :) I feel extremely lucky to have him in our family!
